2-time champion Naomi Osaka withdraws from Australian Open

2-time champion Naomi Osaka decided to withdraw from the 2023 Australian Open starting on January 16.

Having won the tournament back in 2019 and 2021, Osaka's decision was announced by the organisers without stating any reason for the same.

Former world number 1 Osaka slipped to 42 in the world rankings and had earlier taken a break to prioritze her mental health after skipping the 2021 French Open.
