Manchester, Sep 12 (AP) Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has secured a season-long loan move to Turkish club Trabzonspor, it was announced on Thursday.

Onana, who found himself excluded from United's initial trio of Premier League matches, faced increased competition following Senne Lammens' arrival on transfer deadline day.

The 29-year-old Cameroonian experienced a challenging spell with Manchester United after transferring from Inter Milan in 2023. During his tenure, he committed several notable errors across two full seasons.

In light of this, United's coach, Ruben Amorim, opted for a strategic shift this season by initially choosing Altay Bayindir over Onana, while Lammens is anticipated to assume the role of first-choice goalkeeper.

Onana made a significant impact by appearing in 102 matches for United and played a pivotal role in their 2024 FA Cup victory.

The Turkish transfer window is set to close on Friday. (AP)
