Ahmedabad, Aug 25 (PTI) In a stunning comeback following a year-long break, Mirabai Chanu delivered a record-setting performance to clinch the gold medal at the Commonwealth Championships on Monday.

The Tokyo Olympics silver medallist lifted a combined total of 193kg (84kg in snatch and 109kg in clean and jerk), setting new Commonwealth records in all three categories and claiming the top spot on the women's 48kg podium.

The 31-year-old athlete, who has transitioned from the 49kg weight category after it was removed from the Olympics, was competing for the first time since her fourth-place finish at the Paris Games last August.
