Tilak Varma may not be a household name but a video of his friends breaking into crazy celebrations after Mumbai Indians bought the youngster in the IPL 2022 mega auction has now gone viral.
Tilak, who came into the limelight during the 2020 U19 World Cup, was picked up by the 5-time IPL champions for ₹1.7 crore. It was 8 times his base price of ₹20 lakh. Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad were involved in a bidding war for the 19-year-old and Tilak was following the auction with his friends.
