No threat to IPL in Mumbai: Maharashtra home minister refutes unverified social media reports

Amid unverified reports of a threat of a terrorist attack during this year's IPL, Maharashtra home minister Dilip Walse-Patil refuted the claims and said that there is no threat to the Indian Premier League.

"Nobody conducted recce, there is no threat from anyone. And the police department too has made this clear," Walse-Patil said in the Assembly.

Earlier, Mumbai Police too clarified that they had received no intelligence inputs about any terror threat during the show-piece event.

According to some unverified viral messages on social media, terrorists had conducted recce at Hotel Trident, Wankhede Stadium, and along the bus route of these two locations.
