With a 4-wicket win over Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals gave a boost to their slim playoff chances. The Royals now sit at number 5 on the points table with 14 points in 14 matches.
However, since Rajasthan have completed their league matches, they can only enter the playoffs on the basis of the outcomes of the remaining 4 matches over the weekend.
Punjab Kings, on the other hand, became the third team after Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals to crash out of the tournament.
They have lost 8 out of 14 fixtures and are ranked 8 on the points table.
