In the absence of regular captain KL Rahul, LSG's stand-in skipper Krunal Pandya has stepped up and how.
The all-rounder who led from the front in their crucial win against the Mumbai Indians, was the recipience of special praise from Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar.
Talking to IPL broadcaster Star Sports, Gavaskar stated that Krunal is a terrific reader of the game.
'Before he was the captain, he used to play for Mumbai Indians, even there his reading of the game, of the situation was great. He bowls a different sort of line depending on the batters' strength so that is all about being aware and also about the fact that he reads the opponents well, he reads his own game well," Gavaskar said.
In LSG's last-over win over MI, Krunal scored 49 off 42 balls after a top-order collapse and then bowled an economical spell.
And when MI were going all guns blazing, captain Krunal marshalled his bowlers, mixed and matched combinations so well that Mumbai could only score 55 runs between the 10th and the 18th over.
