David Warner & Co still have two league games remaining, but wins in those two will not help them enough to reach the top-4.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings rose to number 6, two positions higher from their previous stand, after a brilliant display of the ball by Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar versus DC.
Earlier on Saturday, the Lucknow Super Giants defeated Hyderabad by 7 wickets to move back into the top-4.
Punjab and Lucknow keep their play-off hopes alive with 2 must-win clashes remaining for each team.
