In a thoughtful gesture, Mumbai Indians donned MI’s Women’s Premier League jersey when they took the field on Sunday against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The reason behind was that the Mumbai-based franchise celebrated Education and Sports for All (ESA) day on April 16, an initiative to promote the idea of sports as a career option for girls in the country.

Last month, Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians won the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League.
