Umran’s four-wicket haul and a balanced batting display powered Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to a thumping 4th straight victory in IPL 2022. SRH defeated Punjab Kings by 7 wickets on Sunday and lifted themselves to 4th position on the IPL 2022 points table.
Hyderabad’s steady batting approach helped them to chase down the modest 152-run target with seven balls to spare. After losing Kane Williamson early, Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi stitched a 50-run partnership before losing their wickets in quick succession to Rahul Chahar. Post that, Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram displayed their finest form as they took SRH over the finish line with a 75-run partnership.

Earlier, Punjab were off to a poor start as they lost four wickets for 61 runs. Then Livingstone and Shahrukh stitched a 71-run stand for the 5th wicket, putting Punjab's innings back on track. Meanwhile, Livingstone went on to score his fifty. But Hyderabad produced an excellent death bowling display led by young pace sensation Umran Malik. The speedster bowled a triple wicket maiden in the 20th over, thus restricting Punjab to 151.
