R Ashwin's unbeaten 40 runs powered Rajasthan Royals to a five-wicket win over Chennai Super at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday night. With the win, Rajasthan confirmed the second spot on IPL 2022 points table.
Chasing a modest 151-run target, Jos Buttler managed to score only 2 runs as Simarjeet Singh dismissed the Englishman in the second over. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson steered Rajasthan's innings and stitched a 51-run stand. Jaiswal continued his superb batting display after the powerplay as wickets kept tumbling at another end. After Jaiswal's dismissal, Ashwin kept the momentum going and finally took his side over the line with 2 balls to spare.

Earlier, Devon Conway and Moeen Ali produced a counter-attacking 83-run stand after Trent Boult removed Ruturaj Gaikwad in the first over. Moeen blazed away in the power play and reached his fifty in just 19 deliveries. However, Chennai's innings slowed down considerably after the powerplay as the Rajasthan bowling unit made a strong comeback with wickets at regular intervals. Moeen made 93 off 57 balls with 13 fours and three sixes as Chennai struggled to 150-6 in 20 overs.
