As expected, West Indian prolific all-rounder Odean Smith fetched big money in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction as he was finally bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 6 crore.

The hard-hitting batter triggered a bidding war on Day 2 of the IPL Mega Auction with as many as three teams were vying for him given his all-around capabilities.

Smith showed his hitting prowess in the recently concluded ODI series against India as he went hammer and tongs down the order. While bowling he got some big wickets in the ODI series too.

In his short international career, the 25-year-old Jamaican cricketer has a mind-wobbling strike rate of 192 and 163.33 in ODIs and T20Is respectively.
