Liam Livingstone was expected to be one of the hottest picks on day 2 of the IPL 2022 mega auction and he lived up to the billing.

The English batter triggered a bidding war before Punjab Kings bought him for ₹11.50 crore. Livingstone is now the 2nd-most expensive Englishman in the history of the IPL. Ben Stokes still remains the most expensive English cricketer in the IPL having been sold for ₹14.5 crore to Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017 and then to the Rajasthan Royals for ₹12.5 crore.

Livingstone was expected to light up the IPL last year as well but he failed to impress while playing for the Rajasthan Royals. In 9 IPL games he scored just 113 runs at an average of just 14.
