In a major blow to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), their ₹14 crore-signee Deepak Chahar is likely to miss the majority of IPL 2022.
The all-rounder had suffered a quadriceps injury during the 3rd T20I vs West Indies last month, which ruled him out of the following T20 series vs Sri Lanka. According to BCCI sources, Chahar is likely to be out for at least 8 weeks which means that he will miss half of the IPL, starting March 26.
Chahar, who has emerged as a reliable all-rounder, is currently under rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and CSK is waiting for a final report.
