Shubman Gill smashed a six to win the IPL title for debutants Gujarat Titans as the Hardik Pandya-led side defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in the final of the 15th edition of Indian Premier League at Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera in Ahmedabad on Sunday night.

Defending a paltry 131-run target, Rajasthan bowlers came out all guns blazing as they removed Wriddhiman Saha and Mathew Wade early and conceded only 31 runs in the powerplay. However, a 63-run stand between Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya took the game away from the Royals as they overhauled the target with 11 balls.

Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal started Rajasthan's innings on a high and stitched a quick 31-run opening stand with Jos Buttler. But after the dismissal of Jaiswal, RR failed to find any momentum given Gujarat bowlers put a lid on the run-scoring. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers and sent Buttler, Sanju Samson, and Shimron Hetmyer back to the pavilion as Rajasthan managed to score only 130-9 in 20 overs.
