New Delhi, Oct 30 (PTI) — A group of Indian representatives participated in an intensive five-day FIFA Coach Educators Development Pathway Programme in Jakarta. This course was organized by FIFA's coaching development department. The Indian team featured key figures like Vivek Nagul, AIFF's head of coach development, alongside experts such as Sajid Dar, Mariano Dias, Shakti Chauhan, Caetano Pinho, Shekhar Kerkar, and Parthasarthy Thulasi.

The workshop's main objective was to enhance the knowledge and skills of coach educators by focusing on modern coaching techniques and peer-to-peer learning methodologies. Under the leadership of Branimir Ujević, head of FIFA coach education, the sessions were facilitated by Oscar Díaz, the coaching development delivery manager for AFC and OFC. Contributing technical expertise were Scott O'Donnell, Savio Medeira, Sean Douglas, and Jamal Alhassani.

This programme also promoted collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants from India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia, fostering cross-regional dialogue and the sharing of best practices in coach education.

Under the banner of advancing football in India, the All India Football Federation (AIFF), in partnership with Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS), hosted a three-day workshop in Mumbai from October 24 to 26. This event, aimed at preparing referees for the Indian Women's League (IWL) 2025-26 season, was led by prominent instructors Maria Rebello and Uvena Fernandes, with active participation from 23 referees.

Chaitali Paul, a member of the referees committee, served as an observer for the workshop. The hands-on sessions were designed to improve participants' on-field skills, focusing on positioning, mobility, and decision-making during crucial match moments.
