India concluded their Champions Trophy 2025 preparations on a positive note, securing a win against England in the final ODI of a three-match series in Ahmedabad.

Fans were relieved as Virat Kohli returned to form just in time for the major ICC event, hitting his 73rd ODI half-century with a precise 52-run innings. This stellar performance marked a significant achievement in Kohli's career, as he broke a monumental record.

Kohli's 52-run effort came off 55 balls and included seven boundaries and a six. This inning elevated his total runs in Asia to 16,025, making him the fourth batter in history to surpass the 16,000-run mark on the continent.

Impressively, Kohli reached this milestone in just 340 innings, breaking the previous record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who did it in 353 innings.

Here is the list of players with the most runs in Asia:

1. Sachin Tendulkar - 21,741 runs
2. Kumar Sangakkara - 18,423 runs
3. Mahela Jayawardene - 17,386 runs
4. Virat Kohli - 16,025 runs
5. Sanath Jayasuriya - 13,757 runs
6. Rahul Dravid - 13,497 runs

In the match, England chose to bowl first after winning the toss. India faced an early setback with Rohit Sharma falling for a mere 1 run, dismissed by Mark Wood. However, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli stabilized the innings. Kohli departed after a valuable 52, but Gill continued to shine, partnering with Shreyas Iyer to further India’s position. Gill hit a magnificent 112, while Iyer contributed a solid 74, helping India amass a total of 356/10 in 50 overs.
