There was a flood of messages for Virat Kohli after he smashed a record-equalling 49th ODI hundred in the World Cup game against South Africa but Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis had a strange reaction.
During the pre-match press conference on the eve of Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh game in Delhi, Mendis was asked if he wanted to congratulate Virat on his special feat.
The Lankan skipper replied, 'Why I would congratulate him?' and then started laughing. Mendis didn't understand why it was his place to say anything about the achievement.
