Virat Kohli and KL Rahul saved Team India the blemishes in their ODI World Cup 2023 opening game against Australia.
India lost 3 wickets with just 2 runs on the board, but the duo took it upon themselves and made sure India crossed the finish line.
Kohli and Rahul stitched a 165-run partnership, which was the highest fourth-wicket partnership in ODI World Cup history.
After the win, KL revealed the chat he had with Virat. During a chat between him and Kohli, Rahul said, 'Tired I won't lie. I think the only chat after 50-70 runs of the partnership was that let's not take the twos and conserve the energy.'
Virat talked about the fact how bizarre the start was and KL was not expecting to come into bat that early.
In the BCCI interview, Virat said, 'It helped that we played the more conventional way in those tough situations. It obviously helped us to eradicate the errors and help us to rotate the strike as well. We had a good start and the team feels good after a win like that and as KL said, hopefully we can go a long way in this tournament.'
