Tata Trusts Chairman Ratan Tata on Monday rubbished all reports claiming that he made an announcement to give a reward of ₹10 crore to Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan.

Ratan Tata took to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, 'I have made no suggestions to the ICC or any cricket faculty about any cricket member regarding a fine or reward to any players. I have no connection to cricket whatsoever. Please do not believe WhatsApp forwards and videos of such nature unless they come from my official platforms.'

A few reports had earlier claimed that Ratan Tata had announced the reward after the Afghanistan leg spinner was fined ₹55 lakhs by the ICC for displaying the Indin flag after victory over Pakistan.

Afghanistan had handed Pakistan a humiliating 8-wicket loss in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. It also happened to be their first-ever win over Pakistan in ODIs.
