New Zealand will be without the services of it star batter Kane Williamson for the game against Netherlands as he has been ruled out of New Zealand's 2nd ODI World Cup 2023 game.

Williamson had missed the opening game also as he had not fully recovered from his knee injury sustained during the IPL in March.

Ahead of the Netherlands game, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said, 'Kane's been progressing very well, I think the fielding is still the element for him that he's just got to get a little bit higher, and he gets a little bit more trust in his body.'

The Kiwis are no mood to rush his return as stead added that they were 'pretty confident that Kane will be playing the third match.'

New Zealand will take on Bangladesh in their third match on October 13.
