India's Shubman Gill dethroned Pakistan captain Babar Azam to occupy the top spot in the ICC Men's ODI Batters rankings on November 8.

Gill has attained the no. 1 ranking for the very first time in his career. The 24-year-old has 830 points, six more than Babar, who sits at number 2 with 824 points.

Gill, who is the top run-scorer in 2023, leapfrogged Babar Azam to the top after a run-a-ball 92 against Sri Lanka last week. He's also only the 4th Indian to become the No. 1 batter in one-day cricket after Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Ace batter Virat Kohli, meanwhile, climbed three spots and is now ranked 4th with 770 points while Indian skipper Rohit Sharma moved down to the sixth spot.
