Afghanistan get back-to-back wins in ODI World Cup as they beat Sri lanka by 7 wickets to get closer to the semi-final spots in the points table. The win took the Blue Tigers to 5th spot on the table with 6 points.
Sri Lanka on the other hand faced their 4th defeat in the tournament after 6 games played.
With a brilliant display from both bat and ball, Afghanistan are also looking to book their spot for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by finishing in the Top 7 of the World Cup group stage.
With just 2 points off the Top 4, 3rd and 4th placed Australia and New Zealand would need to put their best foot forward to avoid any upset in the latter stages.
Afghanistan are followed by Sri lanka, Pakistan, and Netherlands respectively who are level on 4 points on the table.
Bangladesh and England have got themselves just one win in the tournament so far and their hopes to qualify for the final 4 are all but over now.
