There were many reasons why Team India failed to put their best foot froward on India vs Australia Cricket World Cup final and Shoaib Malik feels that one of the reasons was KL Rahul.

During a show on A Sports, the former Pakistan skipper said, 'He has been taking a lot of responsibility when India lose quick wickets up front. If you will see his today’s innings 66 off 107 balls, it was not a KL Rahul innings. He went into a zone, where he only wanted to play the whole fifty overs. He should have been a little more proactive.'

'When you are batting on tough condition and you are not able to hit the boundaries, at least you rotate the strike. He played a lot of dots balls,' Malik added.

KL Rahul walked out to bat with India in trouble at 81/3 and stitched a 67-run stand with Virat Kohli.

He then had two more crucial partnerships with Ravindra Jadeja and Suryakumar Yadav. However, India never got the finishing kick after KL got out at the wrong time.

India could eventually manage 240, a total Australia chased down with ease.
