An already under fire England delt a major blow on Sunday as pacer Reece Topley was ruled out of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 due to a finger injury.
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stated that Topley will return to the UK and will work closely with the England and Surrey medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation.
England hasn't named any replaced as yet but will do that in due course.
Topley was in great form and had already taken 8 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 22.87, with the best bowling figures of 4/43. At the point when he was ruled out, the 29-year-old was the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
