Bangladesh fans were left nervous on Friday after Shakib Al Hasan looked in major discomfort during his side's clash against New Zealand in ODI World Cup 2023.

The Bangladesh skipper injured his left quad and was treated by the physio during the game, which the Bangla Tigers lost.

Shakib still managed to score a 51-ball-40 and also bowled his full quota of 10 overs. He though left the field after that.

Najimul Shanto later revealed that he went for scans immediately after the match.

The all-rounder has been struggling with injuries lately. Shakib had previously been sidelined due to a finger injury and a foot injury sustained during team training.
