Cristiano Ronaldo has welcomed the possibility of former Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema joining him in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo believes the arrival of Benzema coupled with the progression the Saudi Pro League wishes to make could make it one of the top five leagues in the world in the near future.
"If they are coming, big players, big names, young players, ‘old players’, they are very welcome because if that happens, the league will improve. Age is not important," Ronaldo said.
Despite not winning a trophy in his first season with Al-Nassr, the Portuguese forward is optimistic his side can challenge for titles next season.

"But, next year I am really positive and confident that things will change, and we go in a better way. So, let's believe in that and work on that," Ronaldo added.
Ronaldo on not winning Saudi League this season:
"I expected to win something this year, but it's not always the way we think or the way we want. Sometimes we need patience, consistency (and) persistence to achieve the best things. So, we improved a lot. Let's say this last five (or) six months. I think the team has improved so much (and) even the league. All the teams improved and my team did as well. It takes time sometimes, but if you believe and you think that it's your goal, I think everything is possible.”
