Regrettable scenes at the iconic Vila Belmiro stadium, where Santos fans threw rockets into the pitch to protest against the team's poor performance.

The legendary venue, which recently hosted the memorial of Santos and football's greatest player ever, Pelé, witnessed the incident at the 89th minute of Brazilian League match between the local side and Corinthians, where the visiting side was winning 2-0.

Corinthians' goalkeeper Cassio had to rush in order to not get hit by the rockets.

The referee ended the match at the 88th minute.

Santos' squad needed Police help to return into their locker room.

Brazil's Sports Court Prosecutor-General already announced he'll request that Santos' next game - against Flamengo - should be held behind closed doors.

Santos is currently 13th at Brazilian League, with 13 points, while Corinthians is one point behind, at 15th.
