English club Chelsea have confirmed the signing of forward Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.

Sterling has signed a 5-year contract with the London club in a deal worth up to £50m including add-ons.

The English forward was a key target for the Blues in the transfer window. In fact, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had discussions with Sterling earlier this year regarding his move.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were also interested in signing Sterling but the 27-year-old is London-bound now.

Sterling joined City from Liverpool back in 2015 and netted 131 goals in 339 games for City.

In fact, he scored 120 goals for the Cityzens under Pep Guardiola, and only Sergio Aguero (124) has scored more goals for the club since the Spaniard's arrival in Manchester in 2016.

After joining the Blues, Sterling said that he has achieved a lot in his career but he is looking forward to achieving more in a Chelsea shirt under Thomas Tuchel.

is the first major signing for new Chelsea owners led by businessman Todd Boehly.
