A brace from Raheem Sterling and goals from Aymeric Laporte, Rodri & Phil Foden were enough for Manchester City as they thrashed Newcastle United 5-0 on Sunday night at the Etihad. A grand win for Pep Guardiola's side as they opened up a 3 point lead over 2nd placed Liverpool in the Premier League title race. The Reds were held to a draw on Sunday as City took advantage of that result to grab the advantage.

With 86 points from 35 games, Manchester City needs a minimum of 7 points from their last 3 outings of the season to win the title. If Liverpool bungles any of their last 3 games, the 8th League title for City could come earlier than expected.

A big win for Manchester City after they were dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid last week in a dramatic fashion which quashed their hopes of winning the European trophy for the very first time.
