English club Manchester United opened a 6-point lead over Tottenham in 5th place with a comfortable 2-0 win against Everton at Old Trafford.

The Merseyside club were lucky to get away with just 2 goals after a brilliant performance from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who made innumerable saves from the barrage of shots United had at Everton’s goal.

Such was the dominance that United had as many as 20 shots in the first half, even if they only managed one goal, with Scott Mctominay providing the breakthrough in the 36th minute.

Anthony Martial, who came on as a substitute for the Red Devils, doubled the lead in the 71st minute with their talisman Marcus Rashford providing the assist.

However, with several key games coming up, Erik ten Hag will be worried after Rashford limped off towards the end of the match.
