Gabriel Martinelli proved to be the star for Arsenal as his late winner helped the Gunners beat defending Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night.

Both sides failed to score till the 86th minute before Martinelli broke the deadlock to earn Arsenal a first league win over City since December 2015.

The Gunners are now tied with Tottenham at 20 points from 8 games at the top. Interestingly, both sides also have a similar goal difference of 10.

In the other big game, Liverpool was held to a 2-2 draw at Brighton in another setback for Jurgen Klopp's team.

Lewis Dunk's 78th-minute equalizer rescued a point for Brighton after Mohamed Salah had scored twice late in the first half to help Liverpool overcome an early defensive blunder.
