After Rafael Nadal backed Lionel Messi to win the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, the Argentine superstar responded to Nadal's comments almost immediately.
Messi reposted the Tennis legend's Instagram story and wrote that a great sportsman like Nadal always leaves him speechless.
Nadal had said it was an honour to be nominated for the prestigious award but this year Messi deserves to win it.
While hailing Nadal for his prowess on the Tennis court, Messi didn't forget other nominees, stating competition is tough and that all the players deserved the award.
Apart from Messi and Nadal, the others nominees are Kylian Mbappe (football), Max Verstappen (F1), Stephen Curry (basketball) and Mondo Duplantis (athletics).
