In a major headache for the Indian Super League (ISL), Hero MotoCorp, the official sponsor, recently chose not to renew its agreement with Indian football.

Hero has decided to leave before the start of the 10th season of the ISL after sponsoring the I-League and the ISL for more than ten years.

'Hero MotoCorp has decided to withdraw their sponsorship deal as they are facing internal issues,' sources close the development informed media outlet Khel Now.

The withdrawal could be owing to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) confiscating movable assets worth around Rs. 25 crore during searches.

Thus, there is an ongoing investigation into an alleged money-laundering case involving Pawan Kant Munjal. He serves as Chairman and Managing Director of Hero MotoCorp Limited, among other positions.
