The Glazer family who own Manchester United are open to selling the club after 17 years. The EPL club, in a statement, informed that they are 'exploring strategic alternatives for the club regarding new investments into the club, sale or other transactions related to the club.'

The statement came hours after the Premier League club announced that Cristiano Ronaldo would leave the club with 'immediate effect'

The Glazers completely took over the EPL club in 2005 for £790 million pounds. The owners have, however, faced fierce opposition from the fans due to the huge debts that Old Trafford incurred post-takeover.

The Red Devils who are currently sitting in the 5th spot last won the EPL trophy in the 2012/13 season with manager Alex Ferguson.
