EPL roundup: Arsenal beat Newcastle, David de Gea howler gifts West Ham victory against Man Utd

Relentless Arsenal remain a threat to title favourites Machester City as the Gunners registered a 2-0 win against Newcastle United at St. James' Park stadium. 

Mikel Arteta's men continued to hang by a thread as they closed the gap on Pep Guardiola's team to just 1 point. 

While Martin Odegaard provided a vital lead in the 14th minute, Fabian Schar's own goal sealed the deal for Arsenal who had last won the Premier League title in 2004. The Swiss footballer had inadvertently struck a Gabriel Martinelli cross in the 71st minute.

While City who have won 10 games on the trot are just one point ahead of Arsenal with 4 games left and Arsenal have 81 points with 3 games remaining. 
Newcastle on the other hand who have only suffered 2 defeats in the last 24 EPL home games are in the 3rd place with 65 points. 

Meanwhile, a glaring blunder by David de Gea cost Manchester United a 1-0 loss against a brilliant West Ham United at teh London Stadium. 

The Spanish footballer failed to save a Said Benrahma long-range shot, leaving their top-four hopes in peril after the loss. While they remain in the fourth spot with 63 points, Liverpool with just 1 point more and a game more are in the fifth spot. West Ham are sitting in the 15th place with 37 points.
