Ivan Toney emerged as a star for the meek-looking Brentford as Thomas Frank's men handed Manchester City a shock 2-1 loss at Etihad stadium. After being overlooked for England's World Cup squad, Toney delivered for the Bees with a brace in the 16th and 98th minute. Phil Foden did get one back in the first half injury time, that, however, did not suffice as City missed their chance of taking the top spot in the table.

Liverpool thrashed Southampton 3-1 as Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino scored at home in Premier League. While Firmino found the net in the 6th minute itself, Che Adams quickly equalised it 3 minutes later. The Uruguayan footballer then scored twice in the 21st and 42nd minute to help the Reds ascend to the 6th spot in the EPL table.

Martin Odegaard's brace helped Arsenal strengthen their position in the top spot with a 2-0 finish against the Wolves. After an uneventful first half, Odegaard scored twice in the 2nd half in the 54th and 75th minute as the Gunners continued their unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

Chelsea endured another upset as Joe Willock's lone goal in the 67th minute was enough to pip the Blues. Newcastle who registered their 5th consecutive victory remained in the 3rd spot in the EPL table.

Rodrigo Bentancur scored twice as Tottenham defeated Leeds United in a 7-goal thriller. While Crysencio Summerville opened the Whites' account in the 10th minute, Harry Kane equalised in the 25th minute. This was followed by Rodrigo Moreno finding the net twice in the 43rd and 76th minute. However, a goal from Ben Davies in the 51st minute and 2 from Bentancur ensured Spurs a 4-3 victory at home.

Bournemouth and Leicester City also registered a 3-0 and 2-0 win against Everton and West Ham respectively.
