The drama-filled World Cup qualifier clash between Brazil and Argentina took an ugly turn on November 23.
Brazil's forward Rodrygo had a heated exchange with Argentina captain Lionel Messi during the game which he claims resulted in racial abuse online.
Taking to Instagram, Rodrygo wrote, 'Racists are always on duty. My social networks were invaded with insults and all sorts of nonsense.'
'If we don't do what they want, if we don't behave as they think we should, if we wear something that annoys them, if we don't lower our heads when they attack us, if we occupy spaces they think are theirs alone, the racists will act out their criminal behaviour. Bad luck for them, we won't stop.' he concluded.
The striker received support from several footballers including teammate Vinicius Jr., who had to miss the game due to an injury.
The five-time champions were handed a 0-1 loss by Argentina in a match marred by clashes between fans and the local authorities.
