In football, you have seen a yellow card, and a red card!
But behold, now there's a white card as well.
In a first for football, the white card was shown during a women's cup match in Portuguese football. The incident took place during Benfica vs Sporting Lisbon, where referee Catarina Campos showed the card after medical staff from both teams helped a fan who had fainted in the stands.
The white card is quite different from the yellow and red cards which are brandished as punishment. In contrast, the white card is to encourage and praise acts of Fairplay.
The white card though has only been adopted by the Portuguese Football Federation for now.
