Vierumäki (Finland), Aug 18 (PTI) - Saptak Talwar faced a challenging conclusion to the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge on the Cooke Course, part of the Hotel Planner Tour. Despite beginning with a promising birdie, Talwar struggled on the final day, shooting a 3-over 75, which placed him tied for 27th.

Before the final round, Talwar was on course for his first top-5 finish, sitting comfortably after previous rounds that included scores of 73, 67, and 65. He managed to recover from an early bogey on the seventh with a birdie on the ninth, but the back nine proved difficult. A double bogey on the 10th and further bogeys on the 11th and 14th derailed his performance, leaving him at 8-under for the tournament.

Scotsman David Law emerged victorious with an impressive final round of 4-under 68, winning the title by two strokes. Starting the day merely one stroke behind Andoni Etchenique, the overnight leader, Law capitalized on Etchenique's 1-over 73 final round.

Law's final score of 17 under par included rounds of 65, 68, 70, and 68, fending off challenges from Alfie Plant and Jonas Blixt, who ended tied for second. Plant’s bogeys on the 14th, 17th, and 18th holes, along with Blixt’s missteps on the 15th and 18th holes, opened the door for Law, who secured the victory with birdies on the 13th and 18th holes.

With this win, Law marks his third victory on the Hotel Planner Tour, breaking his six-year title drought just last month at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge

Thanks to his triumph, Law ascended to the top of the Race to Mallorca standings, significantly boosting his chances to regain his spot on the DP World Tour.
