Even though Pakistani captain Babar Azam wasn't part of the series loss against Afghanistan, he remained a big topic of conversation during the 3-match series.
Simon Doull, who had earlier been critical of Babar Azam's strike rate during the Pakistan Super League, once again voiced his opinion regarding Babar's position in the national team.
Stating Babar shouldn't be batting at the top of the order, Doull said, "Babar Azam is hands down the best No. 3 batsman in the world. He should not open for Pakistan. Saim and Haris should open with Rizwan in T20Is."
But Doull's colleague Aamer Sohail argued that T20 teams are selected on the basis of averages and not strike rates, and that averages are more important.
The former Pakistani batter also cited the example of AB de Villiers & Chris Gayle, claiming that the best T20 batters in the world have had relatively lower strike rates but higher averages.
The Kiwi commentator though corrected his colleague, asserting that Gayle's strike rate is 158 and De Villiers' is 145.
