In a worrying incident, a huge signboard outside the Ekana stadium in Lucknow fell over a car and crushed it completely.
3 people were inside the crushed SUV and got trapped under the wreckage. While two are reported dead, one of them was rescued and admitted into a hospital. However, he is also critical.
Shashank Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, said that the incident happened due to strong wind but further investigation is underway.
The Ekana stadium recently hosted 7 matches in IPL 2023. There was also some construction work going on in the complex, including the pitch being completely relaid.
The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium was being renovated as it is one of the venues to host the ODI World Cup later this year.
