Former Australia captain and Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting recently revealed a chat he had with India’s ace batter Virat Kohli.
Ponting spoke to Virat when they met in Bangalore during the ongoing IPL 2023.
‘I had a good chat with him about his batting and where he was at in his career. And he said to me then that he actually feels like he's almost back to his absolute best,’ Ponting was quoted by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The DC coach’s comments come a day after Virat scored his 6th IPL ton versus Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
‘You probably saw that last night, you know, he's had a very good IPL and I'm sure he'll be the prize wicket that all the Australians are looking forward to.’
India will face Australia in the World Test Championship at The Oval that begins on June 7.
