Days after Virat Kohli returned to India on a chartered flight from West Indies, fans have reacted to the Indian star's specially curated journey, on social media.
Kohli was called out by netizens for taking a private flight to India, which will emit carbon dioxide in large amounts, contributing massively to his individual carbon footprint.
One user said, 'Good to know Virat takes the environment seriously.'
While another stated, 'A chartered flight? Thought he’d avoid it as he’s so concerned about air pollution, double standards should be called out.'
A tweet also compared Kohli's 'green' Diwali tips to his photo outside the charter plane.
Carbon footprints are measured by the total amount of greenhouse gases generated due to one's actions.
Fans pointed out that Kohli is the one who advocates against bursting firecrackers during Diwali claiming air pollution and also dons a green jersey for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL as part of an awareness campaign for a greener environment.
