The Ashes series continues to be rocked by Covid-19 as match referee David Boon has tested positive for the virus and will hence miss the 4th Test between Australia and England.

Cricket Australia in a statement said that Boon, who is asymptomatic and fully vaccinated, would be replaced by Steve Bernard. He will quarantine for 10 days in Melbourne and is likely to be available for the final Test. All players from both teams, their families, the England and Australian support staff and the match officials have been having daily PCR tests since December 27, the statement added.

Covid-19 cases have been on a rise in Australia. Despite the scare in both the camps, the boards have decided to go ahead with the Ashes.
