Flamboyant middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has been named the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023. Yesterday, ICC announced the 2023 men's T20I team of the year on Monday, 22 January and named Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the side. 4 Indian cricketers including Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh were named in the side.

Suryakumar Yadav had a sensational 2023 in the T20I format and was the top run scorer among the full-time nations. Suryakumar scored 733 runs from 18 matches and hit two terrific centuries. Yadav's latest century came while playing against South Africa where he hit a century off just 56 balls.

The most memorable moment for SKY this year was his 51-ball 112* performance against Sri Lanka. In just 45 balls, he smashed a century, making him the second-fastest Indian centurion in history.

Suryakumar Yadav flourished despite the burden of captaincy, taking the reins of a young side towards the end of the year.

With that, Suryakumar Yadav also became the first Men's cricketer to win the ICC T20I Player of the Year award twice. SKY won the same award in 2022.

He overcame the challenge of Sikandar Raza, Alpesh Ramjani and Mark Chapman to take the award home.
