Former South Africa and Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur believes that the English cricket board must stop their players from participating in the Indian Premier League to improve the performance of their Test side.

Arthur who is coaching English county Derbyshire said that county cricket should not be blamed for England's poor show in Test matches.

While talking to The Times, Arthur said that English players have been playing IPL instead of preparing for the international home season.

Notably, the England test team are going through a very torrid time given Australia demolished them 4-0 in Ashes. Also, they lost to New Zealand at home in 2021 & are trailing 2-1 in five-match Test series against India.
