Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka granted bail in sexual assault case

Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka, who was arrested on Nov 6 for alleged sexual assault, has finally been granted bail in the case.

The suspended Sri Lankan batter, lodged inside the Parklea Correction Centre in Sydney, made his appearance in court through a video link.

The Lankan star though has been banned from accessing Tinder and other dating apps while he awaits trial.

Gunathilaka has been charged with four counts of sexual intercourse without consent after he allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old woman from Sydney who he met through Tinder during the T20 World Cup in Australia. 

The 31-year-old cricketer was granted bail with 150,000 AUD surety along with various conditions. He cannot use Tinder or other social media apps, and cannot contact the complainant in any way. He also has to report to the police twice on a daily basis and has a curfew from 9 pm to 6 am.
