The Asia Cup could take place in Sri Lanka instead of Pakistan, with the Asian Cricket Council set to arrive at a final decision at the end of May.
According to an Indian Express report, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Afghanistan are all in favour of moving the continental championships to the Island nation after India's refusal to travel to Pakistan.
There's also no clarity on whether Pakistan will participate in the tournament, given reports in the Pakistani media suggest that a boycott could be on the cards.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had proposed a hybrid model earlier, with India's matches at a neutral venue. However, the report states PCB's plan found no takers.
While UAE was also considered as a venue, there are reservations against the high temperatures in the Middle East during September. That's why Sri Lanka is currently the favourite to host the event ahead of the ODI World Cup in India.
