Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu's unbeaten 195 triumphed South African skipper Laura Wolvaardt's 184 not out in a record run-chase during the final ODI of a 3-match series in the Rainbow Nation.

Chasing 302, Athapaththu's sensation 195*, also her career-best ODI score and third-highest in women's ODIs, ensured the visitors successfully completed the highest-ever run-chase in Women's One Day Internationals.

The 34-year-old's innings is also the second-highest individual score in an ODI run-chase, across men's and women's, marginally trailing Glenn Maxwell's 201* power show during the Cricket World Cup in 2023.

Earlier, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt scored an unbeaten 184, her second century in the 3-match series, to take her team to 301.

Wolvaardt's knock is the highest by a Proteas woman in ODIs.
